Monroe Reads to End Racism In-Person
The Monroe Family YMCA is partnering with the Monroe Branch Library to bring you this event. This program will address matters of race, dreams, and freedom, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Frederick Douglass' birth. The focus of our discussion is based on two new books: Frederick Douglass: The Lion Who Wrote History by Walter Dean Myers and Freedom over me: Eleven slaves, their lives and dreams by Ashley Bryan.
Come for a dramatic reading, interactive projects, snacks and a raffle for the Frederick Douglass book.
This program is for young people and their families.
