How to Avoid Fraud in Grant Writing: Guidance for Small & Grassroots Organizations In-Person

A Buffalo woman recently defrauded non-profits and businesses in Erie County by falsely representing herself as an experienced grant writer with connections to New York State funding. As a result of an investigation by the Office of the NYS Attorney General, the woman pleaded guilty to multiple felonies and is awaiting sentencing to a state correctional facility.

This FREE workshop will give non-profits information on how to avoid this kind of fraud!

Topics will include:

  • How to hire a grant writer
  • New York State Grants Gateway
  • Update on the Buffalo case
  • How to make a complaint and alert law enforcement

Registration is Required. Use the link below, or call the Business & Social Sciences Division at (585) 428-8130.
