Book Talk and Lecture: Peacemakers: The United States, the Iroquois League, and the Treaty of Canandaigua. In-Person

November is Native American Heritage Month. Professor Michael Leroy Oberg (SUNY Geneseo) will speak about the Treaty of Canandaigua between the Six Nations of the Iroquois and the United States, a treaty that is of relevance to all New Yorkers, that recognizes the sovereignty of New York's native nations, and says much about the legal status of indigenous peoples in the United States. Professor Oberg will be selling copies of his recent book, Peacemakers: The United States, the Iroquois League, and the Treaty of Canandaigua.
