Searching for the Erie Canal—Celebrating the Bicentennial of the Erie Canal In-Person

When the Erie Canal was constructed in the early 19th century, it changed the state and the nation forever. Later on, two revisions of the canal were made: the enlarged Erie Canal and the Barge Canal, both still in operation today. Join Tim McDonnel, an Osher speaker and board member of the NY Geographic Alliance, for a discussion of all three canals and the remarkable "ruins" that we can all visit today from Albany to Buffalo. No registration required.
