Searching for the Erie Canal—Celebrating the Bicentennial of the Erie Canal
When the Erie Canal was constructed in the early 19th century, it changed the state and the nation forever. Later on, two revisions of the canal were made: the enlarged Erie Canal and the Barge Canal, both still in operation today. Join Tim McDonnel, an Osher speaker and board member of the NY Geographic Alliance, for a discussion of all three canals and the remarkable "ruins" that we can all visit today from Albany to Buffalo.
