Writing to Heal: A Six-Part Series In-Person

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, the health benefits of writing are so powerful that “were the authors to have provided similar outcome evidence for a new drug, it likely would be in widespread use within a short time...” Learn about the amazing research on the physical, emotional, and mental benefits of expressive writing done the right way.

If you are dealing with health problems, grief, job loss, past trauma, or life transitions, structured writing will help you with integration and resilience. Our prompts are designed to promote self-discovery and healing through journaling, poetry and storytelling. This process is great for people who want to gain insight into their own lives or need a way to achieve well-being in the midst of stressful situations. A commitment to all six sessions of this series is required.

Anais Salibian, M.A., owner of Awareness Heals, has a private practice in therapeutic bodywork and teaches classes and workshops in creative non-fiction. Especially in Memoir classes, she found that her students were undergoing a similar process as were her clients—discovering truths about their lives that lead to more wholeness. Then she found decades of research on the power of writing to heal, research that revealed that the healing components were the very techniques taught in her writing classes! Anais is very excited to integrate her two professional modalities.
