Tail Waggin’ Tutors In-Person

Cuddle up with a dog and a good book!  The Children’s Center of the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County is going to the dogs! Actually, the dogs are coming to the Children’s Center because they are hungry for books! Kids of all ages are invited to read a short book to these specially-trained and wonderful dogs. Research shows that the more time kids spend practicing reading aloud, the better readers they become. Since dogs are not judgmental about fluency in reading, they don’t worry if a child stumbles over a word. These Tail Waggin’ Tutors are ideal reading companions because they create a relaxed and comfortable environment.  Kids can come any time between 11:00 am and noon on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Kids can bring their own books or read one of ours.  Please call the Children's Center at 428-8150 for more information.  The Central Library is accessible to people with disabilities. To request specific accommodations, call 585-428-8304 ten days prior to the program.
