TEEN ACTION BOOK CLUB: The Distance Between Us
ANNOUNCING OUR NEW “ TEEN ACTION BOOK CLUB”!
“Action Book Clubs (trademark symbol)” are an initiative of the Little Free Library* movement and we will follow their model. We’ll be reading and discussing YA books on timely topics and then take action and do something good for the community. All teens in grades 8-12 are welcome to join us on the first Wednesday of every month. For our first few meetings we will follow the theme “Many Voices,” which celebrates diversity, our differences, and the similarities that connect us all.
Discussion of The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande, the 2018 Rochester Reads selection. Ms. Grande will give a presentation at PPL on March 28! Participants may choose to read the original version or the young reader’s edition. We’ll also host a Free Lemonade Stand. Instead of charging money, we’ll ask people to tell us something interesting about themselves or something they love about their community.
Registration is required and starts 2 weeks before each meeting.
