AUTHOR VISIT: Reyna Grande (The Distance Between Us) In-Person
On Wednesday evening, March 28 at 7:00 pm Reyna Grande, author of two novels Dancing With Butterflies and Across A Hundred Mountains will discuss her latest book, a memoir
*The Distance Between Us (Atria Books, 2012). Ms. Grande will share her coming-of-age story from her childhood in Mexico, through her illegal immigration to the U.S. in pursuit of a better life, to her success as a student and author. The book hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “the Angela’s Ashes of the modern Mexican immigrant experience", was also a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award for autobiography in 2013. The author will autograph copies of her book which will be sold at the event which is sponsored by the Friends of Penfield Public Library and the Gift & Memorial Fund of the Penfield Public Library.
* The event begins with a discussion at 7:00PM in the gymnasium in the community center, right down the hall from the Penfield Library. Then after the discussion, we will meet in the Penfield Library by the fireplace for the book signing and a chance to meet the author. *
