Artist at Work demonstration: Dick Kane (watercolor painting) In-Person

Stop by and meet artist Dick Kane, and watch as he demonstrates how to paint using watercolors.  This program is free, and no registration is required.

Dick Kane is a life-long Rochester resident, and is widely known for his paintings of his primary subjects, Rochester, and the Finger Lakes Region.

Dick is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology College of Fine and Applied Arts, where his instructors included Ralph Avery, Ailing M. Clements, Stanley H. Witmeyer, and Sylvia Davis. He was greatly inspired by each of them.

Some of his commission works are highly visible as public art, particularly the three hundred fifty square foot landscape mural, "A Community Landscape" at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Pittsford, New York. Along with his own painting, Dick enjoys teaching painting. He is a faculty member at the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery Creative Workshop, teaching a variety of painting classes. He is frequently invited to speak and demonstrate painting for area art associations and schools.

He is a member and past president of the Rochester Art Club (the second oldest art society in the United States), The Manhattan Art Group and Artists Breakfast Group.
