Learn the Printmaking Technique of Engraving In-Person
Engraving is an intaglio technique of incising lines onto a hard flat surface like plexi glass, steel, or copper. For this class we will use plexi glass. We will use a tool to with a sharpened needle like end to create grooves into the plexi glass. The surface is then inked and wiped and the incised lines hold the ink. It is then run through a press to create your image. Engraving allows for multiple prints called an edition. Two famous engravers are Albrecht Dürer and William Blake. I have all the supplies but bring a drawing or photo with you that you would like to engrave. The class will be in two sessions, the first
one is Saturday, January 26, 2019 and the second class is Saturday Feb. 9 from 10-12. You need to be in the first class to take part in the second class. This class is for adults and requires registration. Please register here: https://calendar.libraryweb.org/event/4830360
