The Art of Native Seed Sowing

The Art of Native Seed Sowing In-Person

Saturday, January 14, 9:30-11:30 AM &

Saturday, January 21, 9:30 AM-Noon

For Adults

*Registration opens December 16*

Registration is limited - you must attend both sessions. Native plants play an important role in our local ecosystems. Join us to learn about the unique requirements needed for native seed sowing. We will cover several garden-worthy perennials, learn when and how to harvest their seed, best time to plant them, and the conditions needed once they germinate. Our second class, you will plant your native perennial flower seeds in the mini greenhouses you have created out of recycled containers and discuss spring care of those seedlings that come up.

Co-sponsored with Penfield Recreation and Friends of Penfield Public Library.

*Sessions will take place in the Penfield Community Center Room across the hall from the library.
