"Women in Mechanical Engineering": Local authors talk about new book for Women of all ages considering Careers in Engineering In-Person

Women of all ages are encouraged to join us at the Mendon Public Library to hear RIT Engineering Professor Margaret Bailey, Ph.D., P.E., Founding Director of AdvanceRIT, and RIT English Professor Laura Shackelford, present on their new book, "Women in Mechanical Engineering: Energy and the Environment."

The book highlights the contributions of diverse women engineers who are at the forefront of mechanical engineering, challenges in the areas of energy and the environment, and who address them daily, while also navigating research and professional domains that are historically gendered. Individual chapters highlight areas such as renewable energy, batteries and energy storage, indirect energy conversion, power generation and distribution, sustainability, engineering and public policy, acoustics, climate change, combustion and emissions, externality analysis, and thermodynamic education.

This talk is presented in conjunction with the Fortnightly Club of Honeoye Falls, originally founded in 1895 and still meeting locally.  Sign up today for this free event at the Mendon Public Library.
