Black Film Festival: "Touki-Bouki"

Black Film Festival: "Touki-Bouki" In-Person

The Black Film Festival presents the film "Touki-Bouki" (1973), which means "The Journey of the Hyena" in Wolof, a language of Senegal. With an avant-garde sensibility and a stunning mix of the surreal and naturalistic, debut director Dijbril Diop Mambty paints a fractured portrait of the disenchantment of post-indepence Senegal in the early 1970s.
