Black Film Festival: "Within Our Gates" In-Person
The Black Film Festival presents the silent film "Within Our Gates" (1920).
This earliest surviving Black feature is a complex, dark, and moving depiction of a schoolteacher navigating racial politics as her school is on the brink of bankruptcy.
