ERPL Poetry Workshop for the Whole Family with Joanne Brokaw

ERPL Poetry Workshop for the Whole Family with Joanne Brokaw In-Person

In honor and dedicated to the memory of our former Friend’s Group President Mickey Cherry, who had a great love of poetry, ERPL is excited to offer this poetry workshop open to families and individuals of all ages hosted by Joanne Brokaw.

Explore the magic of poetry using simple techniques to let your writing take flight! We’ll create a poem together and you'll leave with at least one poem draft and easy tools to keep creating at home. This workshop is ideal for adults who don't consider themselves poets and is a great way to encourage kids to write with abandon. It's creative fun for the whole family!

Author, performer, and teaching artist Joanne Brokaw has helped countless people discover their inner artist by encouraging them to take creative risks, celebrate mistakes, and focus on the process, not the product. With a contagious passion for creativity and a gift for inspiring others, Joanne encourages people of all ages to discover the joy of self-expression. You can learn more at http://www.joannebrokaw.com.

Participants can also take the tools they learn in this workshop and apply them to the Seneca Park Zoo’s Nature Poetry Contest: Poetry Takes Wing. https://senecaparkzoo.org/naturetakeswing/
