ROC the Eclipse

ROC the Eclipse In-Person

On April 8, 2024 the sun and moon will once again align for a total solar eclipse in Rochester NY, the first in over 100 years.  The last eclipse seen here in 2017 appeared as a partial eclipse here but this time we will see the main event as the track of totality passes right over the city.

Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Jim Porter to discover the exciting, once in a lifetime opportunity that awaits us in April 2024.  The library will also be able to distribute certified eclipse glasses as we get closer to the date for safely viewing the sun.

Jim Porter worked as an aerospace engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA and Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. His presentations are popular, engaging and easy to listen to for all levels.
