Rush Library Solar Eclipse Party! In-Person
Join library staff and NASA Ambassador, Jim Porter, for this FREE all-ages event at the Rush Public Library on Monday, April 8th from 2-4:00 PM!
- We will offer crafts, games, music, snacks, space activities, and souvenirs as we prepare to witness this rare astronomical occurrence.
- We will have a very limited supply of solar eclipse glasses from NASA that day, so we are asking you to bring at least one pair of approved solar eclipse glasses per family with you, because we will likely run out of them.
- The town hall and library will close at approximately 3:00 PM for about 30 minutes while we gather together outside with you to experience the eclipse. The totality of the solar eclipse in Rush is scheduled for 3:20 PM, and is expected to last 3 minutes and 32 seconds. The William Udicious Town Pavilion will be open for shelter and restrooms during this time.
- Bring your own camp chair with you if you'd like to sit outside during the eclipse.
- All children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult!
- Please register each family member in advance so that we know how much food and supplies to have on hand. We really look forward to sharing this experience with our library community!
