The Black Hour: Eclipses in the Middle Ages

The Black Hour: Eclipses in the Middle Ages In-Person

Just like today, eclipses were a major event for people in the Middle Ages. Join us for an evening exploring medieval science and superstitions about lunar and solar eclipses. We’ll talk about medicine, religion, art, and more, including examples from medieval manuscripts held at the University of Rochester’s libraries.

Presented by Anna Siebach-Larsen, Ph.D. from the Koller-Collins Center for English Studies at the University of Rochester.

Eclipse glasses will be given out at this program (2 pairs per family/household) while supplies last!
