Ukulele Basics to get you Jamming: a two-part series

Ukulele Basics to get you Jamming: a two-part series In-Person

Want to learn how to play the ukulele, but don’t know where to start? Does playing with a group sound like fun? Join local musician Allen Hopkins for this two-session series on the basics of ukulele jamming!

You’ll learn the basics of playing the ukulele, fun songs to strum along with, and you’ll have a chance to experience the joy of “jamming” with a group. Allen will also bring a few ukes from his collection of weird and wonderful instruments.

Please bring your own ukulele.  Don’t own a uke?  Some Monroe County Libraries have ukuleles that you can borrow.  Call us at 428- 8204 for more information.

Rochester folk music legend Allen Hopkins is a talented multi-instrumentalist who has performed throughout the Northeast. He is a founding member of the Golden Link Folk Singing Society, and is sought after as a music teacher and studio musician.  One of Allen’s greatest talents, however, is his ability to connect with his audience.
