Rush Readers’ Book Club In-Person
This month we are reading The Color Purple by Alice Walker, a beautifully imagined epistolary novel in which Celie begins writing letters directly to God to transcend a life that often seems too much to bear. Her letters record a journey of self-discovery and empowerment through the guidance of a few strong women and her own implacable will to find harmony with herself and her home. (The musical based on the book along with a new film adaptation are playing in the Rochester area this spring.) Join us for discussion and dessert on Thursday, April 25th, or May 2nd at 7:00 PM in the library, by the fireplace. Please register in advance
