Author Bio:
Nwana Okafor is a K-12 school counselor, coach, poet, and speaker. As a child, Nwana had a speech impediment, which resulted in him working with a speech pathologist for 6 years. In addition, he struggled with reading and as a result, received reading intervention services. Nwana had a challenging time pronouncing words and formulating sentences. He had no idea how to spell the very words that he wanted to say. However, this didn't stop him from writing poetry and encouraging others, which he loved to do.
He continued to do so throughout the years and eventually, decided to make a greater impact by sharing his story on the stage. Nwana is now a motivational speaker through his business NCO Encourage Services LLC. His passion for making others smile through his speeches and stories brings everyone of all backgrounds together.
Nwana lives in New York with his amazing wife and incredible children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with loved ones and being outside in nature.
