Dr. Rachel Bryant will review BoyMom: Reimagining Boyhood in the Age of Impossible Masculinity by Ruth Whippman.

BoyMom is a humorous, heartbreaking study of the complexities of raising boys who have a healthy sense of self and also respect women. Combining memoir, cultural analysis, and reporting, Whippman outlines some of the contradictory societal pressures and harmful aspects of male socialization that many young men experience

Dr. Rachel Bryant is a NYS licensed psychologist who has spent over 30 years working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in a variety of settings. She is currently the Director of Hillside’s Snell Farm Campus, a residential treatment facility in Bath, NY, that serves adolescent males ages 12 to 21.
