Traditional Haudenosaunee Craft: Make a Cornhusk Doll with Perry Ground

Traditional Haudenosaunee Craft: Make a Cornhusk Doll with Perry Ground In-Person

Kids, Teens, and Adults - Join us for a special Native American Heritage Month Activity.  Perry Ground (Onondaga, Turtle Clan) will begin this activity by providing some background information about cornhusk dolls, a traditional Haudenosaunee craft.  Then, the group will break up into groups that will work together to create cornhusk dolls. All materials and supplies will be provided. The craft involves five steps and younger children may need help with knot tying. We will set up 20 spots with the intention of creating 20 cornhusk dolls.  If you are an adult and want to come and make a cornhusk doll, great!  Register just yourself.  If you are an adult and want to work with your two little ones to create two cornhusk dolls, perfect.  Please register each of your children.  We only ask that you register one person for each cornhusk doll you wish to make.  Sponsored by The Friends of Mendon Public Library.
