The Age of Loneliness by Laura Marris Online

Laura Marris, a writer and translator teaching creative writing at the University at Buffalo, discusses her debut essay collection. These essays reframe environmental degradation by setting aside the conventional, catastrophic framework of the Anthropocene in favor of that of the Eremocene, the age of loneliness. This age is marked by the dramatic thinning of wildlife populations and by isolation between and among species. Registration required.
