Shirley Chisholm: Breaking Barriers in Politics In-Person

Shirley Chisholm was the first woman of color to be elected to the House of Representatives. Chisholm fought for women's issues, was a founder of the Congressional Black Caucus, and in 1972 became both the first Black person to run for President and the first woman to run for President on the Democratic ticket. Presented by Mark Sample, professor of history at MCC.
