The Fire This Time: James Baldwin and Lessons for This Age In-Person
Dr. Jeffrey Q. McCune, Jr., the founding chair of the Department of Black Studies and Frederick Douglass Professor of African American Literature and Culture at the University of Rochester, takes a closer look at James Baldwin’s 1963 book The Fire Next Time. Dr. McCune will discuss some of the key passages in Baldwin’s text, offering a discussion of, and elaboration on, some of the most critical ideas shared in this work.
