The Life of Louisa May Alcott: Beloved Author of Little Women

The Life of Louisa May Alcott: Beloved Author of Little Women In-Person

Join us in celebrating GEVA's production of Little Women with a look at the rich and fascinating life its author, Louisa May Alcott!

Some people may know that Little Women is loosely based on the author's life, but Alcott's experiences growing up in literary Concord, nursing during the Civil War, and pursuing authorship at a time when this was not encouraged for women add color and context to the story. Your surprise, delight, and respect for the author of this beloved favorite of many will only grow when you learn of her many trials and soaring successes in the path to becoming the author we know and love today.
