Tote Sewing 101

Tote Sewing 101 In-Person

Tote Sewing 101 is for beginner sewers or anyone wanting to learn a fun and practical skill. In this class we will learn the basics of using sewing machines correctly, including threading the machine, needle types for different fabrics, how to sew lines, pattern making for your first project, and the different seam types for your projects. Our recycled fabric tote bags will be handmade from old clothes you’re ready to turn into something new. You’ll learn how to make a pattern out of recycled paper to continue the goal of sustainability throughout the project. Everything old is new again – join us for this creative and informative class!

Please bring a selection of clothing or fabrics you have on hand and would like to re-purpose for this project. The goal is to create a cool new bag and keep clothes out of landfills!
