Travelogue: Exploring Morocco’s UNESCO Treasures In-Person
Our journey visits three of Morocco’s imperial cities, starting in the green city of Rabat, Morocco’s current capital. You’ll also explore the fascinating Roman ruins at Volubilis and Fes’ mesmerizing old town medinas. Their 9000 plus meandering alleyways are comprised of bustling markets, majestic palaces, exquisite riads, and ancient universities. The magic continues with a stop at Ait-Ben Haddou of Game of Thrones fame, and then onto Marrakech and its Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and royal tombs. The tour of Morocco’s gems ends with a visit to Essaouira, the white and blue “windy city” on Morocco’s Atlantic coast.
Your travel guide is retired professor David Schuler.
