Ikebana Workshop - Bring the Outside In - Color Our World In-Person
The Summer Reading theme is "Color Our World," so join us for workshop to make a colorful flower display! Develop a positive relationship with nature through your garden, fields, and woods. Ichiyo ikebana invites you to bring your outdoors in. Discover the ancient art of ikebana and its power to impact your day. Presented by members of Ichiyo Ikebana of Rochester.
Please bring:
- coffee mug or container of your choice
- garden scissors
- small bucket or carton that hold water to bring your materials in
- look around your yard or go for a hike to collect a few flowers and branch/leaf materials. Collect your materials early in the day, before the dew has dried, and place them in water in a cool place.
Suggested materials:
- 4 medium to small size branches/leaves (ex: Hosta leaves, pachysandra, 15” viburnum branch, red twig dogwood, 9 bullrush reeds)
- 4 flowers about 10” tall (ex: coneflowers, bee balm, daisies, asters, Queen Anne’s Lace, etc.)
