Life of the Seneca In-Person
Join interpreters from Ganondagan State Historic Site for this presentation covering the formation of Haudenosaunee Culture, specifically the Senecas at Ganondagan. It will include the importance of the construction of the Bark Longhouse and description of everyday life in the Bark Longhouse of the 1600's. Interpreters will share items such as furs, felt hats, bone tools, cornhusk items, wooden bowls and spoons with the clan symbols and trade items. The culture, art, agriculture, and government of the Seneca people influenced our modern understanding of equality, democratic government, women’s rights, ecology and natural foods. No registration required.
