Smartphones & Social Media: Protecting Childhood in a Digital Age In-Person

Are smartphones stealing your kid's childhood? Join us for a powerful and eye-opening event presented by Pittsford resident Jerremy Lorch that delves into the hidden dangers of giving children unrestricted access to smartphones, the internet, and social media. With a focus on Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation, this session will explore how early digital exposure affects mental health, sleep, attention span, and emotional development. Jerremy works in the Pittsford School District as a secondary school substitute teacher, and since 2024 has worked to bring the “Wait Until 8th” movement to Pittsford, where there are now active pledges in all five elementary schools. Jerremy is a graduate of Pittsford Sutherland High School and serves on the Town’s Environmental Advisory Board. Registration recommended.
