Getting Out of Our Screens and Restoring Our Human Connections In-Person
Stuck in a social media constrained world and immersed in excessive social drama, we are drifting away from the human connections that make us… well, human. Kathleen Allen considers how bad behaviors are ruining our interactions with each other and offers some thoughts on a social remake of how we talk, think, and behave. Join us to learn more about restoring human connection.
Presented by Kathleen P. Allen, Ph.D. Local resident, Kathleen (Katy) Allen, has published a book. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester, Canisius University, and the former Cardinal Mooney High School. She grew up in Greece and has lived in Fairport since the 1970s. Her new book, Stuck in Our Screens: Setting Aside Social Drama and Restoring Human Connection, follows her previous academic work on adolescent social drama and extends it to consider what effects adult social drama is having on our society.
