Join us for this virtual author talk with Jack Kelly about his 2016 book Heaven's Ditch: God, Gold, and Murder on the Erie Canal! Kelly's book illuminates the spiritual and political upheavals along the Erie Canal from its opening in 1825 through 1844. Hear about America's first celebrity daredevil Sam Patch, the founder of Mormonism Joseph Smith, and about America's very first "crime of the century." This author talk will be held on Zoom. In collaboration with Pittsford Public Library.

About the Author: Jack Kelly is an award-winning author and historian. He lives and works in New York’s Hudson Valley. Kelly has published works of narrative nonfiction focusing on the Revolutionary War and early America, which has awarded him with the DAR History Medal and is a New York Foundation for the Arts fellow in Nonfiction Literature.
