Leo Lyons, the Rochester Jeffersons, and the birth of the NFL In-Person
Leo Lyons is acknowledged as a co-founder of the NFL. He was a player for, and eventually owner of Rochester's professional football team in the early 1900's - the Rochester Jeffersons. He helped shape early professional football. Lyons was a pioneer for racial integration, he developed the first team logo for a professional football team, and conceptualized the use of football trading cards. Join author Jeffrey J. Miller and Leo Lyons' great-grandson John D. Steffenhagen to discuss their book about Leo Lyons' role in helping create the NFL and his work with the Rochester Jeffersons.
