Get into the holiday spirit and show off your creativity! Build and decorate your very own gingerbread house — from scratch or with a kit — and let your imagination run wild with frosting, candy, and cheer.

Drop-Off Dates: December 1–11 during library hours

Location: Newman Riga Library

Display Begins Dec. 1 (as soon as you drop off your house)

Community Voting runs Dec. 11 - Dec. 22

All houses will be proudly displayed at the library for everyone to enjoy. Stop by, admire the sweet creations, and vote for your favorite! The community’s top picks will win a People’s Choice Award and special prize.

Entry Fee: $5 per house — all proceeds support prizes and help fund future community events like this one.

A limited number of free gingerbread house kits (thanks to our friends at Chili-Paul Wegmans) will be available at the library beginning Nov. 20 — grab one while supplies last and decorate at home before submitting your masterpiece!

You can also take a gingerbread house decorating class at Spoonful of Sugar on Dec. 10 and then share your creation at the library.
