ROCHESTER JAMAICAN ORGANIZATION RETURNS

ROCHESTER JAMAICAN ORGANIZATION RETURNS In-Person

Join us for a Black History Month celebration with the Rochester Jamaican Organization as they return to the Rochester Public Library for the second year in a row! Last year, over 85 people attended our festive program and this year the program will be even more festive with Jamaican artifacts, artwork and music that will be on display. Program attendees will get the opportunity to learn about the rich history, culture and traditions of Jamaica during an informative lecture, presented by community leader David Shakes. Last and certainly not least, join as we experience the flavors of the island with FREE food provided by local Caribbean restaurants such as Jamaican Spice and Kingston Vibes.

The Rochester Jamaican Organization is committed to improving the lives of Jamaicans living in Rochester and Jamaican through its own capacity building and collaboration with U.S and Jamica based organizations. The organization is committed to its charge of perpetuating the Jamaican heritage in the Rochester community while facilitating assimilation into the American society; and improving the living and educational conditions of the economically disadvantaged in Jamaica.
