Intro to Encaustic Art

Intro to Encaustic Art In-Person

Join Kirsten for a primer on encaustic art for adults Monday, February 23rd from 2:00-4:00 PM. Encaustic painting uses melted beeswax with dammar resin (crystallized tree sap) to build up a beautiful semi-opaque surface on art. We will be collaging on a wooden surface, layering encaustic and heat throughout our collage elements. Please wear old clothes and bring a cookie sheet for carrying your project to the multiple stations during the class. Bring small paper ephemera to collage with if you wish; we will have lots of supplies to choose from. There is a $15 materials fee for this class. Please register in advance.
