Exciting Update on Brockport’s Exile McBride
A lot has happened since March of 2021, when Rochester’s Mike McBride surprisingly discovered an unknown great uncle through DNA. John Joseph “Exile” McBride had been an international human rights crusader, who fought especially for Ireland’s independence. In 1864, he escaped from Ireland after a failed rebellion against the tyrannical British government. At only 17, he had become a wanted fugitive and settled in Brockport.
Since then, lots of exciting new information has been discovered on Exile McBride. These were from over 2000 old newspapers articles found throughout America, and just recently, many more from Europe. Over 30 PowerPoint presentations on Exile’s amazing life have now been given in four cities. If you like real life adventure stories, this one is for you!
