Unearth a Story: EquiCenter Experience Especially for Kids & Teens In-Person
Have you always wanted to know more about EquiCenter and
what happens at 3247 Rush Mendon Rd?
If so, you won't want to miss this opportunity to visit the farm and rotate through
special activities designed especially for preschool and elementary school-age kids, with a special teen program offerings, too.
Unearth a Story Activities at Equicenter to Include:
Create Your Own Nature Character Craft: Use pieces of nature to make a unique main character for your own nature story.
Meet the Minis: Meet, take photos with, and even learn to groom some of the miniature horses that call EquiCenter home.
“Unearth a Story” Story Time: Take a break from the heat and get off your feet by relaxing at the story time station. Picture books focused on nature will be read by a Mendon Public Library librarian.
Tasting a Rainbow of Farm Fresh Produce: Discover the colors (and smells and tastes!) that the EquiCenter farm has to offer. This sensory tour of the farm will highlight many of the seasonal produce grown onsite and will include samples of fresh-picked vegetables, herbs, and fruits.
PLEASE NOTE: Guardians will be asked to accompany youth participants at this activity station to ensure safety. Please notify staff of any dietary restrictions or allergies that we should be mindful of when you arrive at this station.
Nature Bingo: Explore the many characters and creatures that are found in our natural surroundings through this nature scavenger hunt challenge. Turn in your completed sheet in order to make your own nature bookmark!
Nature Story MabLibs: Contribute to a giant nature adventure story at this self-guided activity station.
Tours of EquiCenter: Tours guided by EquiCenter staff and volunteers will highlight the many programs offered at this 200 acre outdoor education and therapeutic facility. See some of the 30+ horses in their pastures and what a day is like at the farm and riding center. Tours will be conducted at regular intervals throughout the event, so be sure to check in at the Welcome Table to see when the next tour will be starting.
PLEASE NOTE: Walking tours will follow designated paved, gravel, dirt, and grass trails. We ask that you stay with your tour guide at all times.
