World Oceans Day Talk for Teens and Adults In-Person
Teens and Adults. Join us tonight to hear how PhD candidates Andressa Alves and Aidan Trendell are studying the oceans as part of the University of Rochester's Paleoceanography Lab.They use isotopic and chemical composition of microfossils (i.e., foraminifera) and marine sediments to investigate changes in ocean circulation, ocean chemistry, and climate during the last 66 million years of Earth’s history (Cenozoic). Their long-term goal is to study the interactions among the oceans, the atmosphere, and the biosphere over long geological time scales to improve our ability to forecast how these interactions will evolve in the future. Sign up to save your seat.
