Music for All Adults - Eastman Chamber Students In-Person
Adult Program
Etched on the façade of Eastman Theatre is the phrase, “for the enrichment of community life”—a value that has been at the core of Eastman’s identity for over 100 years. When George Eastman purchased the property where the School of Music and the theatre now stand, one of his primary goals was to provide the citizens of Rochester with a place to study, make, and enjoy music. That goal remains unchanged.
Since its inception 30 years ago, Music For All has brought this mission beyond the concert hall, sending Eastman student chamber ensembles into nontraditional spaces to share live music with the broader community. This performance features a dynamic chamber group from the Eastman School of Music, presenting a vibrant program of instrumental works that celebrate connection, creativity, and the enduring power of music to bring people together..
"VIOL4 Quartet" will play excerpts from the Romanza for Four Violas by Christopher Lowry and other repertoire to illustrate parts, ask questions to the audience, then perform the whole thing for the public. After the performance, everyone is invited to ask questions to the musicians.
