Cardboard Mechanical Hand Workshop In-Person

Kids ages 5 and up will design and build a working hand using cardboard, string, and simple tools while learning how engineers recreate movement through basic mechanics and human-centered design. Participants will explore how fingers bend, how tendons pull, and how small design changes can improve performance, all in a hands-on, creative environment that encourages problem solving and experimentation. Each child will leave with a functioning mechanical hand they built themselves and a new appreciation for how creativity and engineering come together to solve real-world challenges. Please register each child in advance for Wednesday, May 13th at 6:00 PM in the Library meeting room. Parents must remain in the library for the event.
