A Legacy Deferred- The Architecture of Thomas W. Boyde In-Person

Learn about the first African American architect in Rochester, who designed hundreds of buildings in the area from the 1930s to the 1970s; he was instrumental in shaping the mid-century city & suburbs at a time when he would not have been welcomed as a resident in many of the neighborhoods where he worked. This presentation by Christopher Brandt & Katie Eggers Comeau from Bero Architecture explores Boyde’s life & his prolific career, plus challenges in documenting the work of African American architects.
