Twyjuan Walker: Urban Fiction and Poetry: a Local Author Reading and Self-Publishing Discussion In-Person
The Arts and Literature Division is happy to present a reading and discussion with local author Twyjuan Walker. Twyjuan recently self-published his urban novel series, Tales of the Eastside parts 1 and 2. The urban novels are a modern revenge tragedy with echoes of his own life on and off the streets. His book of poetry, Pain Hidden Within, is a modern, urban confessional in verse. He will read from his books followed by a self-publishing discussion. Twyjuan is excited to share the process from writing to publishing and promotion. We hope you attend!

Twyjuan Walker was born in Rochester, grew up in the inner city and adapted to surviving life at an early age. He experienced deaths and losses very early in life, which drove him down a different path in life than he wished. After his auntie’s death at 9 years old he now realizes he was already numb to death and many other things in life. He continued to fall deeper into the streets with anger and resentment which eventually landed him in prison. Prison was a hard experience at 17 years old. He believes everything in life happens for a reason. Writing has been his passion and the way to release and free himself from the illusions in life.
