Historic Browncroft Neighborhood Walking Tour In-Person

Join guides Christopher Brandt and Tyler Lucero on a walking tour of the historic Browncroft neighborhood.  We’ll start at the Winton Branch Library and walk for about an hour and 30 minutes (roughly 1.5 miles.) The properties within the Browncroft Historic District have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2004. Most were built in the 1920’s and represent a variety of architectural styles and are notable for their beautiful, original details and landscaping.

Please dress for the weather as we’ll walk rain or shine.  Registration is required for this free program since the size of the group must be limited.

Christopher Brandt is a preservation architect at Bero Architecture, specializing in researching local history in addition to designing renovations and restorations of historic buildings. His research and writing has focused on the life and careers of several local architects of the past. When not co-teaching classes with the Young Urban Preservationists, Chris is restoring and researching the history of the time capsule 1920s home he shares with his wife.

Tyler Lucero has connected people to our natural and human heritage as an interpreter at the Genesee Country Village & Museum, a science teacher in the Rochester City School District, a naturalist at West Irondequoit's Helmer Nature Center, and an interpretive ranger at Rocky Mountain National Park. He studied geology and history at Brown University, and has traveled widely to wild and historic places across the United States, but loves the people, landscape, and history of his native Western New York best.
