Author Visit with Elizabeth Everett: Romance as the Genre of Resistance In-Person
Please join us on Saturday, June 6th from 11:30am to 12:30pm for a discussion with Rochester resident, RCSD graduate, and USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Everett on romance as the genre of resistance!
Elizabeth Everett strongly believes that all romances must have a Happily Ever After (HEA) – or at least a Happily For Now (HFN) – to truly be considered a romance. “The HEA is the gift that comes with a romance; the knowledge that no matter how far apart the characters may stand or how high the walls they must climb, everything will work out for the best. At the end of a romance novel, the promise of love is kept. Always. Now, that is a radical act… To write radically is to push back against cynicism and exclusion by writing a romance. In romance, everyone deserves a love story.”
This free event will be held in the Rundel Arts Room in the Rundel Building of the Central Library. Please call the Arts & Literature division at 428-8380 with questions.
Registration is requested but not required, and light refreshments from Donuts Delite will be provided.
