Rochester Oratorio Society's Harlem Renaissance Revisited In-Person
Join us as the Resonanz Ensemble of the Rochester Oratorio Society presents a choral performance entitled "Harlem Renaissance Revisited."
The Resonanz Ensemble of the Rochester Oratorio Society will look back a century and more to Rochester's and our region's Golden Era, the 1920s and 30s, when our most famous personalities lived and worked here, our cultural scene buzzed with the Jazz Era, and our greatest institutions and monuments were founded and built. Elsewhere in New York, the Harlem Renaissance reshaped our society and still resonates through our culture today. Soprano and Rochester native, X'Zaya Ivy, explores this era through "Harlem Renaissance Revisited," a narrative program of solo vocal and choral music made famous by Langston Hughes, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and others.
