One of Rochester’s earliest rock musicians takes audiences back to the moment the music first hit the airwaves. With live performances and vivid storytelling, Kit Nelson explores how young players learned rock & roll before lessons, tutorials, or sheet music existed—and when adults didn’t approve of the sound at all. Featuring the songs that taught a generation to play, this program traces rock’s roots in blues, country, and beyond, and captures the thrill of being there when there was no rock & roll… and then suddenly, there was Jerry Lee Lewis.
