Creating a Buzz about Native Bees and Wasps In-Person
Presented in cooperation with the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County.
Native bees and wasps are some of our most important yet misunderstood insects and supporting these beneficial insects is crucial for our local ecosystems. Participants will learn about the fascinating biology of NY’s native bees and wasps and how they differ from the non-native honeybee species we are most familiar with. Included are some of the threats to these harmless native helpers and practical steps to create and enhance habitat, including plant selection and simple design elements.
